Snails

The Schnecken (Snails) cycle vividly conveys the moment at which humans and animals are violable and vulnerable. By means of the photographic processes of double exposure and strong brightening fragility is evoked, and through the resulting impression of dematerialisation and spiritualization; transience, therefore time is also thematised. The snail becomes a symbol of deceleration, vulnerability but also inner strength as an idol against our current civilizational way of life.
